Biography

As the only daughter of a successful Midwest fine artist, Jennifer Converse has
been surrounded by creativity her entire life. Jennifer’s earliest memories include
painting at the age of three, working alongside her father in his studio. She was
always encouraged to experiment in a variety of techniques and traditional styles
at an early age. Continuing to nurture her creativity, Jennifer attended a performing
arts high school studying art, classical ballet, and modern dance.
Jennifer has
been a professional artist for over 20 years. Her style is a facet of “New Media
Art,” yet stands alone as “Abstract Surrealism”, a new movement in Contemporary
Art. Jennifer creates traditional paintings and marries them with technology, rendering
stunning works of art through a combination of painting, digital exploration, and
photography. Her work has been described as an evolution of watercolor and oil paint
, transferred to film, then manipulated and developed chemically on archival photographic
paper.
Jennifer earned her fine arts degree and is classically trained in oil painting,
photography, and sculpture. Her career’s work has helped her to cultivate an expertise
in photography and digital media. Much of her work has been an exploration of the
human form and portraiture. However, several years ago she experienced an intensely
inspired turn in her style, transforming natural figurative lines to abstract landscape
inspired by organic living forms. She embraces traditional painting and pushes the
lines of innovation and creativity by blending it with media of the new age, resulting
in dynamic visual works that speak of a new era and genre.
